Julie Douglas

Julie Douglas (B.A.Hons.). Julie, born in Co. Down, trained at Liverpool and Norwich Schools of Art. She lived in London and worked for 12 years as a successful illustrator working with top advertising agencies and design groups. Clients included Barclays Bank, Tesco, Pilkington Glass, Paul MacCartney's World Tour programme, Britannia Insurance.

She has illustrated books for publishers such as Penguin, MacMillan, Mitchell Beazley etc. She has won the Association of Illustrators Award on two occasions and her work on an American Express brochure won a New York Advertising award.

Julies unique teaching style

Julie exhibits her work in galleries in London, Sussex, Dublin and Galway. Her favourite subjects are people and animals, and she regularly accepts portrait commissions. She really loves drawing and thrives on encouraging others to learn, to pick up her enthusiasm and feel inspired. She took up teaching because so many people approached her for advice. A student described her as 'the ultimate motivator'. You will find, after attending her classes that no other tutor will do.
